⛰️ La Experiencia: Adentrarse en el sendero hacia la Laguna Esmeralda es mucho más que una caminata; es una inmersión total en la naturaleza salvaje del Fin del Mundo. Esta aventura te lleva a recorrer los paisajes más emblemáticos de los Andes fueguinos, cruzando densos bosques y valles glaciares hasta llegar a uno de los espejos de agua más fascinantes de la Patagonia.
🥾 El Recorrido: Nuestra travesía comienza alejándonos de la ciudad, en la zona de los valles invernales. Desde allí, nos sumergimos en un antiguo y silencioso bosque de lengas y ñires. A medida que avanzamos, el terreno nos propone un desafío divertido y auténtico: cruzar los famosos «turbales» fueguinos (humedales de origen glaciar) y sortear las castoreras que modifican constantemente el paisaje.
Este Emerald Lagoon Trekking es de carácter agreste, donde el barro y las raíces son parte de la aventura. Por eso, ir bien equipado y acompañado por quienes conocen la montaña hace toda la diferencia.
📸 La Recompensa: Tras superar la línea de vegetación, el paisaje se abre para regalarnos la postal más esperada. Enmarcada por el imponente Glaciar Ojo del Albino y el cerro Bonete, aparece la Laguna Esmeralda. Su intenso color, producto de los minerales que arrastra el agua de deshielo, contrasta de manera increíble con la nieve y la roca de las montañas. Allí nos tomaremos un merecido descanso para almorzar, disfrutar del silencio y sacar fotos inolvidables antes de emprender el regreso.

The trek has a medium difficulty. No prior mountain experience is required, but an acceptable physical condition is necessary. You walk for about 4 to 5 hours in total (round trip) crossing forests, peat bogs, and areas that are usually quite muddy.
It is essential to wear waterproof trekking footwear (the terrain has wet peat and regular sneakers are not suitable). We recommend dressing in layers (onion style), bringing a waterproof jacket, gloves, a warm hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a small backpack.
No, the trek operates normally on rainy or snowy days, which gives the experience a true Fuegian touch! It is only canceled or rescheduled in the event of extremely severe weather conditions that pose a safety risk.
Since it is a 4 to 5-hour hike over rugged, uneven terrain with a lot of mud (peat), we do not recommend it for very young children or people who are not used to walking. It is an excellent experience for teenagers or children over 10 years old in good physical condition. For families with younger children, we suggest calmer alternatives such as the navigations or the National Park.
